No one wants to live in a constant state of deep joy and excitement at all times, right?
I mean, it would get slightly annoying quickly.
The truth is, sad or upsetting stuff happens now and again, and it wouldn’t be normal or human to feel happy during those times.
The most important thing is to not dwell on those times, and to be able to control your state the rest of the time. And that’s very possible.
Just think of it as if you were creating your perfect cocktail of emotions:
A dash of playfulness, a measure of calm, and a splash of excitement..!
Or whatever other “ingredients” take your fancy.
Most people know that thinking takes place in the brain and that connections are made through the neural pathways.
The chemicals our body creates, such as: serotonin, oxytocin, dopamine and endorphins, act as neurotransmitters, ensuring our brains work optimally and we get to feel good.
What many people don’t realize is that we have another system in our gut, which impacts on our thoughts and feelings. This is known as the Enteric Nervous System, or “the other brain”.
Just like the neurons in our brain, the neurons in our bodies send and receive impulses, record experiences and respond to emotions.
Its nerve cells are bathed and influenced by the exact same neurotransmitters.
Your gut can upset your brain just like your brain can upset your gut!
Many people would never relate struggling to lose weight and getting fit with this, but in fact it plays a major role.
If the chemistry of your gut is upset, this will affect everything: the impulses you have, the decisions you make, how you feel about yourself and others, how you feel about your life… everything.
You could be doing everything in your power to achieve your goals, but if the neuro chemistry of one or both your brains is upset, the chances are you’re gonna find it next to impossible.
Because the key to effective and lasting weight loss lies in your ability to create cocktails that contain the right dosage of the right neurochemicals…
