“I let everything get on top of me. I just couldn’t cope so I let everything go, I let myself go.”
The woman who said this went from being an accomplished swimmer to weighing over 25stone and being a shadow of her former self.
However, with expert help she lost over 100lbs in the space of a year, whilst regaining her confidence and zest for life.
I don’t watch much TV, and never watch programs about weight loss, but the other day I happened to catch a snippet of a program called Obese: a year to save my life, and this woman’s words really struck a chord. She said:
“I feel emotionally stronger to cope with things. Now I can grow old healthy and happy.”
Funnily enough by the end of the program and her transformation, she never spoke about the numbers on the scale. She talked about loving the fact she could go swimming again, being out with friends and not having to hide behind a happy facade, feeling emotionally strong to deal with life, and growing old happy and healthy.
Because it’s not just about the weight, right?
I mean, imagine being the exact weight you want to be, but still feeling tired all the time, demotivated, depressed, and not being able to do all the things you’d like to do…
Now, imagine not being the exact weight you want to be, but having tons of energy, feeling positive about life, feeling happy and super motivated to do all the things you ever dreamed of…
