Needy Squirrels And What I REALLY REALLY Want

I was on “Fakebook” the other day and this woman had just updated her profile with a “in the gym 7 days a week, anything less is just messing about!”

Really?! – I thought to myself. Sorry, but what a load of BS.

What’s the point of posting something like this, to make the rest of us mortals feel like total failures for having worked out 1 and 1/2 times this week..?

The truth is, you can get in great shape working out 3 times a week, provided you follow the right program.

But some people need to be in the gym 7 days a week to feel good about themselves. It seems it’s their only source of self-esteem.

What they might not know is that the key to a healthy and strong self-esteem lies in being happy without needing or wanting anything.

Because needing things weakens us.

If you need to work out 7 days a week to feel good but you can’t do it this week because you’re sick or something else stops you from doing that, you get to feel bad.

If you need to fit into a certain size jeans to feel good but right now you can’t, you get to feel bad.

If you need a flat stomach and skinny legs before you can enjoy your holiday… the chances are you’re gonna spend your holiday feeling bad about yourself (and annoying everyone around you).

See how debilitating needing stuff can be?

Don’t let the “needs” fool you. If you’re gonna do something, do it because something inside you tells you it’s the right thing to do. Do this and notice how much more empowered you feel!
