Happiness And The Hacker Mindset

When 13 year old Logan LaPlante grows up he wants to be happy and healthy. In this TED video he discusses how hacking his education is helping him achieve this goal.

Could the hacker mindset help us live happier lives?

What if we made education about how to be Healthy and Happy?

Here’s a list of subjects Logan recommends are taught in schools:

  • Exercise
  • Diet and Nutrition
  • Time in Nature
  • Contribution and Service
  • Relationships
  • Relaxation and Stress Management
  • Religious and Spiritual Involvement

He also says the current school system is teaching us how to make a living, not a life.

Call him a dreamer, but I’m extremely impressed with this kid, and anyway as writer Vera Nazarian once said:

It is interesting that we call something good a “dream,” but being called a “dreamer” is somewhat of a putdown. Without dreamers, no dream would ever be given reality, and we would live in a very small and shallow world

  3. I was curious if you ever thought of changing the structure of your website?
Its very well written; I love what youve got to say.
But maybe you could a little more in the way of content so people could connect with it better.
Youve got an awful lot of text for only having one or two
images. Maybe you could space it out better?
