It’s so easy to get caught up in someone else’s resolutions. You talk to a friend or work colleague. They tell you their resolution is to look like a Victoria’s Secret model by the end of the month. Next thing you know you’ve joined their gym, hired their trainer and find yourself drinking protein shakes morning, noon and night… since it wasn’t your resolution in the first place you soon forget about Victoria and her secrets, end up  stuffing your face at MacDonald’s, feeling fat, stupid and like a failure, and all this before the month is over.

If you want to avoid this think; think about that it is that YOU want and forget about what other people are resolving to do or not do. Whether it is to start to lead a healthier lifestyle, give up cigarettes, open a savings account… resolve to do something you are going to do because it’s going to make you happier. So please, don’t adopt other people’s resolutions!


Every year millions of people make the same resolutions they made last year, which they incidentally failed to adhere to. Yet every year millions of people swear this time will be different and set out to accomplish their goals on their own. Never mind that the most exercise you’ve done in your life is hoovering. From tomorrow you’re going to run every single day for an hour. Yeah right! I’m not saying it can’t be done, I’m saying the odds are against you, and that if you really want to actually end up doing what you set out to do, it makes sense to plan for HOW you’re actually going to do it. When it comes to resolutions, don’t try to be a hero, don’t just wish for the best or “see what happens”, get the expert advice you need to make things happen. Get the help you need and avoid disappointment!
