Mackerel & Chermoula Spices

Rich in Omega-3 Fatty Acids!

Ingredients (serves 2-4 people)

4 fillets of mackerel, butterflied

3 garlic cloves

the juice of 1 lemon

1 1/2 tsp cumin seeds, toasted

1 1/2 tsp paprika

1/2 tsp cayenne pepper

2 handfuls coriander leaves, roughly chopped

4 tbsp extra virgin olive oil

2 tbsp Hymalayan rock salt

1 tsp ground black pepper


In a food processor blend all the ingredients except the mackerel and the coriander

When you achieve a purée consistency add the coriander and blitz briefly

Preheat the grill to medium, season the skin side of the mackerel with salt and pepper

Stuff the mackerel with the purée

Drizzle with oil and grill skin side up for 5-7mins

Serve with a side salad of rocket or grilled vegetables
